Mission Statement
To promote the message of how
to succeed in both business and
personal life through my speaking,
training, consulting and writing.
To help to prevent business failure
and to help people realize and achieve
their maximum potential.
Corporate
History
Frances founded Eastleigh Management
Services in 1983 after seeing the
effects of the recession on small
businesses and after becoming frustrated
working for businesses that often
failed due to mismanagement. She
operated a business management consulting,
public tax and accounting practice
with the goal of teaching small
business owners how to better manage
their businesses. She began writing
weekly business columns in 1986
and teaching bookkeeping to business
owners at adult education in the
evenings.
From
there, Frances progressed to delivering
workshops and seminars for the Business
Development Bank of Canada and the
private sector. An avid writer,
in 1996, the first edition of her
book Business for Beginners
was published. The third independently
published edition is now released
with sales of over 110,000 copies.
McGraw-Hill Ryerson published its
sequel, Big Ideas for
Growing Your Small Business
in January, 2001. She founded Eastleigh
Publications for the publishing
and distribution of her book.
During
this period, she was nominated for
and has won prestigious business
awards, including being awarded
one of Vancouver's 2002 five Most
Influential Women in Business.
She has volunteered copious time
to a variety of organizations, including
the chamber of commerce, the Economic
Development Commission, Valley Women's
Network, Township Toastmasters and
the Canadian Association of Professional
Speakers, and has been a founding
member and catalyst for some of
these organizations. A great believer
in giving back, Frances is also
a mentor to many people.
